I believe many drivers have experienced this: you’re about to change lanes and the side mirror looks clear, but the moment you turn the wheel, a car suddenly "pops out" from the side. It’s enough to make your heart skip a beat! You clearly checked your mirrors, so how did you miss it?
The truth is, side mirrors have unavoidable blind spots. Typically, mirrors only show vehicles that are still some distance away. When a car moves into a position roughly 45 degrees behind you, it disappears from the mirror entirely. At that exact moment, if you look directly out the side window, you still might not see it. This is the most dangerous "blind zone," and forcing a lane change now could easily lead to a collision.
That’s why a Blind Spot Detection System is essential. When a vehicle enters your blind spot, warning lights on the side mirrors or inside the cabin will flash to alert you. This significantly reduces the risk of accidents and gives you much greater peace of mind while driving!
BSM: Blind Spot MonitoringWhen a vehicle enters your blind spot, the indicator light will illuminate to alert the driver.
LCA: Lane Change AssistIf the indicator light is on and you engage the turn signal in that direction, the light will flash and a buzzer will sound three times as a warning.
AOA: Active Overtake AlertWhen you overtake another vehicle and it enters your blind spot, the indicator light will turn on. Once the overtaken vehicle is approximately 10 meters away from your car, the light will turn off.
RCTA: Rear Cross Traffic AlertWhen in Reverse (R gear), the system detects cross-traffic behind you. If a vehicle is approaching the lane you are backing into, the lights will flash and a buzzer will sound, providing an early warning for safer reversing out of parking spaces.
